Describe yourself in five words.
Cat-lover, Neat-freak, Open-minded, Calm, Friendly
What's your superpower?
Is extreme organization a super power?
Why did you want to be a photographer?
I really enjoy portraiture. I like to make people look and
feel good about themselves through photographs ;)
What is your favourite part about photography?
I love learning about all different types of photography and
that I get to meet so many people along the way!
Picture #1: This is a portrait of my neighbour that I did for
an assignment in class. The theme in all the images was
smoke/smoking. There is just something I love about the smoke and
the shapes it creates in an image when someone is smoking (I don't
smoke nor do I like smoking so I'm not sure why). He came over for
the shoot but he doesn't speak much English so I had a difficult
time explaining what I was doing and I am still not sure what his
name is! This one was my favourite of the series; the look in his
eyes, the wisp of the cigarette smoke. Every time I see him he is
giggling and laughing and just so happy, and this picture shows a
more serious side of him. I still have to show him how it turned
Picture #2: Here is another portrait for a class assignment.
The theme was old Hollywood. I was looking for a certain model for
this portrait, and I felt that he fit it perfectly (boyfriend's
friend). Again, I love the expression and the look in his eyes. I
was going for an actor headshot type of portrait and I think that
the lighting and pose work well together. He is definitely one of
my favourite people to use as a model.
Picture #3: This was my first attempt at shooting a
boudoir/pin-up/Victoria's Secret type of photo. The model is my
best friend, and she absolutely loves Victoria's Secret and all the
beautiful models ;). Out of all the shots, I loved her expression
in this one the most. I liked the animated/fun look of it. In a few
of the other shots I had trouble with the lighting and we were
using white wings on a white background; the boa turned out to be
the best prop for these photos. I'd love to do more photo shoots
like this, it's a lot of fun!
